PAMAS - March

March was rather uneventful, but there were a few highlights. We did a lot of construction this month after the Angel One mission trip that helped us build the houses. Finishing work takes a surprisingly long amount of time. The mission trip got the bulk of the house done, but we had to do this like windows, painting, finishing the mudding/sanding, floors, bathrooms, furniture, trimming, etc. It takes a lot longer than it sounds. Anyways, at first I started to dig a hole for the sewer system with the excavator, and then I switched to helping inside the houses. I helped do a lot of the painting and the floors. For the floors we used kind of like vinyl stuff and then glued it to the cement after we cleaned it so it would stick well. It was honestly pretty fun to sit there with a paintbrush putting glue down and then cutting and setting the vinyl down while listening to music or talking to the other workers.
On Sabbath, we went to Natampod again for church. It's always a neat experience going there and seeing the native people and how they live up in the mountains. We were there for church, had lunch with them, and walked along the road a bit before we left back for the base. The last Sabbath of the month we went to the SULADs deaf school for church as well. This time the bridge was fixed so we walked across the bridge to get to the school rather than through the river. The deaf kids performed some more music like last time, but last time we had brought some ukuleles so they played some songs on the ukuleles as well.
