PAMAS - May

After my time in Davao with the sanctuary, I came back to the PAMAS airbase and worked on the airplane as well as getting ready to head back to the states. PAMAS has a low wing aircraft they are working on basically rebuilding so that we can use it. ( I forgot the aircraft type, I want to say it's a Piper Cherokee, but I'm not sure.) Someone was working on the fiberglass parts and used paint stripper on them which strips the resin from the fiberglass as well as the paint. Needless to say, they needed work. I had to sand down the extra paint and rough patches in the resin/fiberglass, and then I put new resin on the parts that were too thin/rough etc. After it had dried I sanded the resin until it was smooth and then put a coat of urethane paint on it. I then sanded the paint and put a second coat on. It was a very time consuming process. Apart from this project, I did a few random things like helping repair the waterline that goes under the road outside the hangar. I left the Philippines almost a week ago and flew back to the US.
